The 20 Hour Responsible Adult: Professional Development for Child Care Providers Level 1 course includes the necessary components for a participant to meet the training requirements as a Responsible Adult.
According to provincial child care licensing regulations in British Columbia, a person must be at least 19 years of age, be able to provide care and guidance to children, and have completed at least 20 hours of course work in child development, guidance, and health, safety and nutrition in order to qualify for employment as a ‘Responsible Adult’ in a child care setting.
Participants taking level 1 will get a certificate for 20 hours of Responsible Adult professional development.
It is recommended that participants set aside two to three homework hours for each lesson and allow themselves a comfortable time and place that will be free from disruptions. Students should be prepared to ask any questions to the facilitator during the scheduled Zoom meetings.
